How to use this website
Every material has several specific features like hardness, transparency, weight etc. Six main features are assigned to each design and translated into two layers of overlapping ‘infographics’ which create an individual pattern/logo per contribution.
For a legend of the features click here.
The homepage of the website with the overview of the nominees and winners of 2009 – 2016 functions as archive, all assigned features appear as a list and can be used as filters. For example, to easily find all designs (also those of previous years) related to the feature 3d printing.
The New Material Award is a joint venture between Stichting DOEN, Fonds Kwadraat and Het Nieuwe Instituut. The biennial prize was first organized in 2009 and will have its seventh edition in 2018.
